First time trying acupuncture in London 😳 I’ve been experiencing tension headaches, stress-related health issues and poor sleep recently. I’m curious to try a holistic route and after researching acupuncture for a while decided to give it a go and bring you along! WHAT IS IT? With over 3000 years of history within ancient Chinese medicine, acupuncture is believed to help restore the flow of qi (energy/life force) in the body and helps produce pain-relieving endorphins by inserting thin, sterilised needles into acupuncture points. It’s also said to help alleviate stress, anxiety and body/muscle pain! PAIN LEVEL Despite how it looks, it didn’t hurt on my face or head! I felt a little pinch and pressure as it was inserted - but otherwise, I felt really relaxed afterwards and even nearly fell asleep! I did feel a slight soreness on my right knee though - it’s a problem area and was swollen from a previous injury - but was completely tolerable. HOW LONG? 30 mins! HOW MUCH? A 30 minute session costs £40. An additional 15 min massage is £60 or a 30 min massage is £70 WHERE? Hesitant to recommend until I’ve tried more sessions!
