The water would release slower on the days without rain without the tile though? It absolutely increases flooding and destroys natural hydrology. It introduces a lot more water to the waterways quicker. And they can’t handle it

Tile is the reason the river rises extremely fast when it rains. The river banks erode a lot due to rapid change in water level
