That democracy is slow kind of by necessity and these leftists don’t know that what they advocate for is authoritarian.

Candidates are chosen by voters in the primaries. If most democratic voters nominate a moderate, that moderate is going to know that most of the base is moderate.

If a leftist doesn't vote, it loses the party 1 vote. If a centrist swaps their vote from democrat to republican, it loses the party 2 votes. There would have to be twice as many leftists as centrists
