@astroulagam: Despite coming from a humble background, Kalaimagal's dad, Chinnakaruppan, who used to work for the Pengkalan Hulu District Council, has always been her biggest supporter. But with a monthly income of just RM700 and dealing with nerve issues and asthma, Kalaimagal's dream of pursuing higher education seemed out of reach. However, her dad's simple WhatsApp message asking for donations from friends on 21st September 2024 took an unexpected turn when it got shared in other groups. Thanks to the power of social media, UMK's Student Welfare and Discipline Division quickly stepped in through the UMK Cakna Program, providing Kalaimagal with RM1,000 in emergency aid, a laptop, and an essentials package!
