Whenever using a public restroom, I wad up as much toilet paper and stick it in my pockets so I can use it later at home

paper sheets are a fancy thing for my family. we use a fabric sheet to clean then wash it when it gets dirty

I didn’t grow up poor, but my dad did, so he instilled all the money saving habits in me…which is good cause now I’m poor 😂 most of these are just better for the environment either way.

I still do most of these, I’m almost obsessive about having a fully stocked pantry & freezer. But I just realized I indulge in paper towels usage & use nice soft toilet paper.

The restaurant I work at uses the sour cream containers for stuff. Soups, our garlic butter, random things really, our owner is awesome

I didn’t grow up poor, but my parents did as they were born in the depression. All these things I did to save money: it was just a way of life. I’m too old to stop it now. But that’s ok! 😋

People side eye me for how thoroughly I scrape the food out of pots or containers. They get actually frustrated at me not just wasting it for no good reason beyond a few extra seconds of work.

My family has the FHB rule, which means “family hold back” so if we had guests over we made sure everyone else got what they wanted before we ate. Maybe not the same, but I never take a large portion

Take the green onion stem and replant it. save the onion nub and replant those. Pull the seeds from squash and save them for planting in spring. Reuse tea bags.
