@dougiesharpe: In 2004, the film industry released the infamous “You Wouldn’t Steal a Car” ad, which completely back fired. #antipiracy #antipiracyscreen #interestingfacts #interestingfactsforyou #interestingfactshub #amazingfacts #amazingfactsforyou #amazingfactsministries #coolfacts #coolfactsforu #coolfactz #coolfactsyoudidntknow #randomfactstiktok #randomfacts #randomfactsforyou #randomfactsoftiktok #facts #factsdaily #factsoftheday #factsoftiktok #factsoftheworld #factz #funfacts #funfactsoftheday #funfactsoftiktok

EVEN FUNNER FACT: the music in that ad was used without licensing, i.e. it was pirated 😂

The ad is also a bad analogy. Pirating movies is not like stealing a car, it's more like making a bunch of free copies of someone's car, and in doing so decreasing the car's resale value.

Digitally we don’t own the games so pirating isn’t stealing

It's a terrible comparison. Stealing a physical item deprives the owner of that thing, pirating files doesn't.
