Inside your adult body is just a little child who wants to feel loved, cared about, important and special. We often forget that this child still lives within us. That this child is a part of us. Every time you look down on, or get angry at yourself, engage in negative self talk or grimace at yourself in the mirror, your inner child FEELS it. Even if you don’t feel like it’s causing any real damage, it is hitting your inner child right where it hurts. One of the best ways you can cultivate true confidence, is by connecting with your inner child.  This can look like: - Talking kindly to them. - Being compassionate towards them when you make a mistake or “fail.” - Asking them what they NEED in this moment in order to feel good and loved.  - Directly looking in the mirror and talking to them, and even giving them a name can be so powerful. - Telling them you love and approve of them, despite how they may be feeling in this moment.  When we neglect our inner child, we are neglecting and rejecting a part of us. This causes you to feel unworthy, sad, lonely, insecure… the list goes on.  Be gentle with your inner child. Ask them what they need in order to feel loved. Nurture this part of you and through this nurturing and acceptance, confidence will flow more naturally to you.
