I’ve had that microdiscectomy. Followed 7 yrs later by a L4-S1 fusion. Then a C3/4 fusion & C6/7 fusion. I have stenosis, spondylosis, severe peripheral neuropathy, ulnar neuropathy, carpal tunnel.

Are these disc herniations due to golf swings? I’m assuming that thoe of movement can cause spine issues.

And do more brisk walks on uneven ground (soft sand, grass) as it is the rebalancing of the body that triggers the muscles near the spine and disc tissue/fluid to grow/regenerate. Move it, or lose it.

What do you recommend for scoliosis pain? I’m in pain all the time and I have scoliosis in my lower back. Is there anything that can be done to alleviate the pain?

Had the microdiscectomy ended up with a fusion 7 months later. The 2nd fusion was the best thing ever. Went from living horizontal on sofa & bed to a normal life. Last pain med was days after surgery.

Why wouldn’t Neurosurgeon’s offer the barrier or disc replacement? Is this difficult? Or does it just require additional education/training? Curious bc the hospital I work at, I never see this done

Don’t ignore back pain! I did and have motor nerve damage in the anterior muscles in my left leg from knee down. Had C5-S1 fusion 20 years ago. No problems with that but foot knees brace.
