@hopeverra_dogtraining: When I work with dogs struggling with aggression and with extensive bite history I always ask for a muzzle to be worn. It’s better to be safe than sorry. Way too often when I say this, the dog shows up wearing a fabric snug muzzle, or the first cheap plastic one from any pet store. You really do not want the muzzle to restrict your dog from normal and necessary behaviours like panting, taking rewards or drinking. If it is too tight it will be extra uncomfortable and frustrating for your dog. We want to do everything in our power to help this tool from becoming a source of frustration and negativity in any already stressful situations. Take the time to find a larger basket muzzle. It is best to custom order to the length and circumference of your dog’s snout. There are many situations when a muzzle should be used on dogs outside of aggression. They can be helpful to stop dogs from eating poop and trash outside or as an extra precaution when handling a nervous dog. In some countries muzzles are required for certain breeds. I say this to encourage people not to judge a dog based on the muzzle. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • #dogsoftiktok #dogs #doglover #dogoftheday #dogconditioning #balanceddog #balanceddogtraining #doglife #dogtrainers #dogtrainer #DogTraining #trainingdays #balanceddogs #dogtrainersoftiktok #dogtrainingtips #balanceddogtraining #behaviormodification #dogmuzzle #trainingdogs #trainingday
