I know everyone says to shave down to avoid bumps but then the legs are never smooth and there’s always coarse hair left unless I shave against the grain

Unfortunately this just doesn’t work for me. I’ve used every method. Still get them. Only on my thighs though. Knee to ankle is mostly fine. I’ve done this exact method it doesn’t work 😭😭

Hi two things, any chance you could explain *why* each step is done, it really helps, also, when shaving with the grain, the shave isn’t as close as going against the grain, is that just a trade off-

(1)I use a 70-30 by volume of whatever lotion and water in a spray bottle (obviously test to make sure it mists, add more water if it doesnt) for everything. Straight razor, butterfly, disposable.
