Disagree with the conclusion. It’s precisely cos misunderstanding are the root of it. So, it’s easier to go one’s own way. Some people are just too ignorant to understand. Waste of energy.

More scope for misunderstanding… sounds very familiar in this current space and environment, whether neurodivergent or not. Love all of this one though. Thank you for the education, again.

That's my experience, I had to learn how to communicate most basic things, because people would get offended when I bluntly said it. It's so tiring sometimes, that I space out for hours after workdays

My ND friends and I communicate much better amongst ourselves than with NT people. Anecdotal evidence only, but I’ve heard similar stories from others. Have there been official studies done?

I'm NT and work in a field that ND are high (Intellectual property law) I'm both clients and some patent attorneys. It is the minority job to learn to communicate to them. But occasionally rest needed

do you mean something like schizophrenia? in that case the wrong perception of reality is the basis of misunderstanding. otherwise, it sounds like a linguistic or even a political issue.
