Disagree with the conclusion. It’s precisely cos misunderstanding are the root of it. So, it’s easier to go one’s own way. Some people are just too ignorant to understand. Waste of energy.

That's my experience, I had to learn how to communicate most basic things, because people would get offended when I bluntly said it. It's so tiring sometimes, that I space out for hours after workdays
