There have been actual studies about this. The baby’s stress doesn’t lower and it just tells them help isn’t coming. A baby isn’t SUPPOSED to be self reliant.

I knew the grandma. Everyone called her grandma. She broke into a lady’s house because her baby was crying for hours. Got the baby to sleep then proceeded to call all the moms and lecture them.

Baby’s only way to communicate is to cry so her trying to get help is crying, leaving her to cry and doing nothing is only going to teach her that no matter how hard she cries nobody will help her
