I think before AGI we a heading to a "deep reasoning" phase, multiply up cheap fast LLM into recursive loops of reasoning like GPT 1o, add recursive researching, and we get close to AGI.

For LLMs this seems so. But there are other kinds of AI being explored and even areas where it might help us understand ourselves better. I’m hoping for a good AI future.

The current models are incredibly powerful and their progress isnt plateauing currently. There is multiple research out there that concluded that CoT reasoning capabilities are comparable to humans
