i did TV ratings in the UK for years. we had a box connected to the tv with a remote to 'sign in' while we were watching. Always forgot to sign in,and didn't report our housemate moved out

That’s crazy I always thought there was some sort of tracking based on tuning in so I’d always turn off stations I didn’t like so they wouldn’t get the listen😭

Isn’t this how most surveys are done, random people are selected for their opinions. Maybe they’re contacted by phone or email but I would think this is how polls are done. How else would you do it?
