We have 50,000 put back just in case if a hurricane, and if we don’t use it we keep it. We also get out as soon as we see it because of all of the traffic, it’s terrible. We got out early and are safe

These states have billions of dollars from taxpayers and I really think that the money should be used for gas to help evacuate people. America has oil on there should be no reason why they can’t help

My cousin has a savings set aside for. They left Sunday. The area they are in their house will be a total loss. They took what they could fit in car. They have a backup plan for staying with family.

Yes! We have an extra credit card for that reason. It has $3000 on it. We have paid the upwards of $4000 for insurance a year. We would leave I have an autistic son.

We have no fund, but stock up on emergency supplies because 99% of the time we ride them out. Kids can’t be sheltered by them at all, it’s just commonplace down here to talk about it.

When ilivd in Texas ,we kept $1000 for evacuation. Most places , like where I lived, we were in a flood zone and couldn’t get homeowners insurance for a hurricane. That’s a natural disaster.

flood insurance in florida is expensive! and many companies have quit covering so you have to go through the state which is even more expensive. i never had a fund, just general savings for emergency. but its hard. most houses are block homes. ppl get hurricane shutters/wood for windows. work and school often close a couple days ahead so you can prep or evacuate. it is scary though. i only faced irma when i lived there. but have family and friends in tampa and am so worried for them
