So true. ‘American freedom’ really has more to do with … freedom of mind - meaning, not everything is as codified as in Europe. In general, we like new ideas, people taking chances.

I was visiting my friend in the UK and literally had to ask him if he ever had anything positive to say cuz it was constant negativity. Threw him for a loop haha

I have read it started after World War II. The UK was hit really hard for a long time whereas America boomed from the military industrial complex. It’s built on generational attitudes in my opinion.

My son is a very outgoing expressive person. He spent 4 months studying abroad in London and came home very depressed. He said there were days in the UK he could barely get out of bed.
