Fun fact: the Californian ship was 10-19 miles away from the titanic as it sank but the reason why it didn’t come to rescue is because one of the crew got off their shift and there communication broke

The thing was,they weren’t waiting on the Carpathia,they had no idea that anyone would come,to them it was pitch black, the only things they had just sunk hundreds of feet below them, and now it’s just still and dark,with just the sound of ocean waves and other survivors,there was absolutely nothing out there,they didn’t even have hope. The Carpathia was their saving grace,no doubt about it

also a storm was apparently on its way to that exact location, it the carpathia took any longer everybody would have perished and nobody would know how the actual sinking looked or happened
