@cherry.dollface: The 90s were a much simpler time. Plus, I was a teenager so I didn’t have money for expensive salon products or even salon visits! It’s a wonder I have any hair left. But back then, when my hair would get super damaged, I would just shave it right off! Also, I preferred gelatin over Elmer’s glue because it didn’t flake as bad and it lasted longer in the rain of Portland! What other hair tools or products were y’all using in the 90s? Side note: aquanet still smells EXACTLY the same. 🤢 #90saesthetic #90sstyle #90shair
and we had to wait for Halloween to buy black lipstick and nail polish ..we'd stock up and pray it'd last the year

Friend where were you because the whole of the 90s I had a flat iron, manic panic, and punky color.

We used Elmer’s liquid glue for spiking our hair back in the 90’s you just put it in shape it and blow dry it while holding it up them hair spray the s#it out of the base and the tip it worked well

Mom taught me to use paper bags between my hair and the iron so it didn't burn my ends, and that they'd been doing that since the 70s!

I used a large barrel curling iron to straighten my hair. Getting my first flat iron on the 2000s and being able to get actually straight ends was revolutionary 😂

Dry shampoo actually did exist but it was mostly used in hospitals and nursing homes and it wasn’t as good as it is today ☺️

Aqua net was also used as makeup setting spray… and using RIT dye for fun colors too…love this…lighter to smooth the eye liner..

Are we remembering different 90s? A bottle of LA Looks extreme hold gel was available at pretty much every Walgreens for a buck. And the cool colors were available by mail order from Tish and Snooki.
