They mastered his character with this remake. He’s much more complex due to the high definition and remake. You can see him change throughout the choices you make it’s a beautiful game

When he runs into Angela at the garden, I was so surprised by that cutscene, but it was easily one of the best.

James, Angela and Eddie were all called to Silent Hill for the same reasons but the difference is James had the ablity to redeem himself. Eddie was too far gone with hate and Angela too far gone with depression. But James still had a chance (depending on the ending). There are also moments where the characters catch a glimpse into the other one’s visions of Silent Hill. That’s why Angela accuses James the way she does. And when James sees the staircase burning Angela tells James this is her visions.
