@maizimmy: For those of you who don’t know what “Geographic restrictions” in a divorce are. They are used to keep parents close together to share custody easier. So I get that it totally makes sense! However, in my case, my ex demanded pretty strong restrictions that are beyond what is typical. At the time, I was depressed and convinced I would be single the rest of my life… So truthfully I didn’t even think about how the restrictions would affect me long term. It was also the first divorce for me and my immediate family so none of us even realized to look into it. I should have gone to court over it, but I am not a fighter. And sadly, when you are in a divorce “battle”, not being a fighter means you’re going to get beat up… My advice to anyone in the thick of divorce who is depressed is to get the biggest fighter in your family to fight on your behalf. You have to have someone fight for your justice if you are not in the headspace to.
