Without civilian credentials - degree, certs, whatever - military on your resume rarely helps. It doesn’t HURT, but it’s largely seen as blank space in the civilian sector

In the navy there's a saying. Pick your rate (MOS), pick your fate. I'm glad I listened and was able to go from Naval aviation to the private sector pretty easly.

Some big companies have targeted pathway program for veterans or have strong veteran liaison. You need to be really resourceful to find them tho. The cost is you will be forced to work in a major city

It all depends on where you are willing to go, can't be a airframe mechanic on a F22 and think that will translate to a high paying job back in your little town with no industry. Plan way ahead!

I hire Veterans as I am also a Veteran. I recommend in the Army, it is always better to have a civilian skill type MOS; however, POG civilian employers like the work ethic for Grunts 😂
