I had the ambulance called three time in the 90s because of severe period pain turned out to be Endometriosis stage 5 (the worst kind) felt like in was dy*ng everytime I could survive in these schools today

As far as I'm aware in the US there are no schools that accept period reasons as an "acceptable" excuse for absences
