Entree in UK is what we also call a Starter which is your Appetiser. Never realised it was a main course over there

In Australia we say that the entree is the appetiser, and the main course is just the main course we don’t really use the word appetiser at all

I think these are just American English because I speak British English and use the words here like the french, other than valet which is your car getting cleaned

the word I like is to dress. coming from the word dresser. in France it lost this meaning but one thing. dresser la table ;) and it came by in France as Dressing ;)
