Smoke sealing these rooms is not fun but can be done well with some good planning. There is no way that passed inspection if it actually was inspected.

Mechanical Rooms should be drywalled before other trades goes in . This is a big issue here in Canada .

WoW. What a difference between the electrician and the drywall contractor. Is there a way that they could have framed (boxed in) the ductwork for easier smoke/fire sealing?? Are you in Texas?

So what's the process to correct that? Take apart the ducting and then drywall smoke seal it all up and put it back together? Is the builder going to actually do it? 🤔
