Bibi Ayesha, an 18-year-old girl from Uruzgan province, Afghanistan, had her nose and ears cut off by her husband under Taliban orders in the summer of 2010. She was left in the mountains to die but was found by U.S. forces and brought to Kabul for treatment. Her photo appeared in Time magazine, drawing international attention. Farkhunda Malikzada, a 27-year-old woman in Kabul, was publicly killed by an angry mob on March 19, 2015. She had been falsely accused of burning the Quran, though investigations proved the accusation baseless. Her death became a symbol of violence and injustice against women in Afghanistan. In Ghazni province, a woman was severely beaten by her husband’s family and then set on fire. Reports indicate that 80% of her body was burned, and she was hospitalized in critical condition. No one has been arrested in this case. Lal Bibi, a 17-year-old girl from Faryab province, had been subjected to months of torture and abuse by her husband and his family. Her story represents the widespread domestic violence and injustice against women in rural Afghanistan. #afghanwomenrights#women #afghanistan#afghanwomen #fyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
