Tidak ada satu pun Imam Masjidil Haram yang secara spesifik terkenal karena jidatnya hitam bekas sujud; justru, banyak ulama menjelaskan bahwa tanda hitam itu bukan ciri kesalehan, melainkan bisa jadi karena sensitivitas kulit atau bahkan kesengajaan (riya), dan tidak ada hadits yang menyuruh membuatnya.
