I used to work at a Costco gas station and this would happen multiple times a day. I even had a lady once asked me for a refund on her spilled gas.😭😭

I don't know why but growing up we were always told You cannot use your cell phone while pumping gas and still to this day I will not use my phone at a gas station😂😂

Omg this happened to me once but I wasn’t on my phone. I had it going and all of a sudden it started pouring out! I didn’t even know that could happen. It didn’t make the click noise it normally makes when it’s done. I was wearing flip flops and it splashed all over my toes. Now I don’t even like getting my own gas, I just ask my husband to go. If I have to get it myself, I never end up filling it all the way because I’m guesstimating how much I need. I don’t trust any pumps anymore.
