@kristenbospt: Pain and aching just above your knee cap? Let’s fix that 👏🏻 I often find this pain due to the quadriceps muscle (muscle along the front of the thigh) working on overtime to make up for other areas weakness. When this muscle is overworked it pulls on the knee cap where the muscle attaches to and creates irritation, inflammation and pain. Although you can find temporary relief with stretching the muscle along the front of your thigh, if you don’t address the weakness that caused this muscle to get tight in the first place this pain will most likely come right back. I often find tightness and irritation in the front of the knee due to a lack of strength and support along the back of the knee by the hamstrings (muscles that run down the back of your thigh). In this video I am using blood flow restriction to increase the challenge and muscle growth occurring with exercise while minimizing the amount of load being placed through the knee joint. These are some of my favorite hamstring focused exercises, and are a great to implement if you experience knee pain!
