The hospitals can’t refuse to care due to lack of insurance.. for those of us who aren’t able to qualify for Medicaid we are stuck with a bill we also can’t afford.

Sadly those of us who don’t qualify due Medicaid and pay for insurance just have bills to pay. They don’t stop treating for lack of insurance.

My son is Austistic and private insurance is allowed to cap ABA therapy. So thankfully we get medicaid secondarily. It's like $200k a year.

my daughters nicu bill was around 6 million and the first 4 months i was a minor so i couldn’t get us on medicaid. i gave birth without an insurance coverage. people don’t get it.
