I got really terrible plantar fasciitis and missed 8 weeks of training for my marathon but powered through and finished! But also depends on how much pain you want to be in afterwards haha

HeyDoc :
You should rest until your run. Walk a couple miles but easy and have your knee taped up for the run and go for it. Honestly with everyone around your adrenaline will be going and you will be fine.

My longest run pre-marathon was only 11 miles due to injury- do NOT drop out! One long run won’t make or break your marathon. Prioritize rest/recovery to feel the best on the day.

This is what I’m experiencing!! I’ve been in PT for 3 weeks now. Going heavy on strengthening the hip. It’s my left side. It is so inconsistent though. One day I’m good- Next day can’t run 2 miles

This happened to me during my 20 miler two years ago leading up to Chicago. I ended up resting those 3 weeks, went to physical therapy, went to a chiro that did a specialized TENS unit therapy.

Girl you should rest and recover, this is the time to taper down anyway. You have 26 miles in you just allow yourself to heal you'll be surprised how well you do

If you’re in NYC I highly recommend Custom Performance PT. They specialize in runners and they’re wonderful. Make sure to do a lot of yoga and stretching out the calves!

IT and glute exercises. Clamshells with resistance band, lateral band walk. I couldn’t run at all. Made it to my 3 marathons. Chicago and nyc were two of them.

I’m right there with you with my knee. I had a good cry last night and decided to only do light runs and cross training and just do the run walk method the day of. We’ve got this. ❤️

If you can see a physical therapist for your last three weeks you’ll feel brand new. IT band issues suck but PTs are magical ✨

I’m in the exact same position as you! Running the nyc marathon and I’ve been having ITBS for last 4-5weeks! It’s awful! Walking when I felt pain and biofreeze really helped me get through my runs.

Have you tried doing pigeon pose?? I had really bad IT band syndrome a few months back and after a week or two of pigeon pose/recommended stretches it went away
