Bloodmoon: The Unseen Game of Thrones Prequel That Almost Was Game of Thrones fans may be familiar with House of the Dragon, the prequel series currently gracing our screens. But before the Targaryens took center stage, another contender for the Iron Throne of spinoffs almost rose - Bloodmoon. This ambitious project, boasting Naomi Watts in a lead role, aimed to delve into the distant past of Westeros, eight thousand years before the events of the original series. Set during the legendary Age of Heroes, Bloodmoon promised to explore the origins of the White Walkers and the terrifying period known as the Long Night. While the concept was undeniably intriguing, the vast timeframe presented a challenge. Unlike the Targaryen-centric world of House of the Dragon, Bloodmoon had very little source material to draw from. Author George R.R.
