My gma had dementia, knew it was bad when she stop filling the candy jar for me 😞 1 time near the end she gave me suckers, Gpa said she held onto her memory for 3 days to make it happen

Yes! I had that moment too. My mom was unconscious in and out towards the end. I told her I love you and she responded, "I love you too." That was 28 yesterday ago. I still tear up when I think of it.

I’m going through this exact situation-Mom is non verbal but thankfully can still say I love you. It’s heartbreaking but I’m still very appreciative to her that she can remember she loves me.

😭im not crying. my dad had Dimentia/Alzheimer, he's still able to have a conversation, but nothing like the way we used to. I miss being able to talk to him about anything.
