@smileycitrus: $650k home to $1.2 mil 🏡🫣 here is why we're paying off our mortgage early 💰 everyone has different financial goals and they're always changing - this is just ours right now! #mortgage #firsthome #firsthomebuyer #mortgagefree #debtfree #Budgeting #budgetbreakdown #moneytok
So insane that your interest just grows.. we have a 30 year fixed rate of 1,4% on our house in the Netherlands. We’ll pay the same for 30 years if we live in this house until then

Are all Australian mortgages adjustable rate? Are there no fixed rate mortgages?!

Lisa Franz :
We're doing similar. Feb 2025 our low interest rate expires, so we're throwing all of our money on the mortgage & should be mortgage-free by mid 2031 🥰 Once we're mortgage free, we will...

I never get how to factor in inflation when considering paying down early. 650k will be worth way less in 30 years, so it will be «cheaper» to pay the mortgage in the future.

As a financial advisor, i would invest the difference and get more then the interest of the mortgage.

I’ve heard some people pay off an extra month worth each year and apparently that cuts off a pretty good chunk and is a good, generally manageable goal.

Did you fix any portion of your mortgage or is it all variable? Only 30% of ours is variable and that still feels horrible when the rates go up.

Congratulations guys!! This is fantastic! Property advisors that might tell you otherwise may be thinking about their own agenda not what is best for you! Growing a property portfolio operating at a loss for many years might not be the goal!
