@skzzolno: Sometimes while filming a moment, I can picture it as a montage. Looking through the viewfinder I see what’s happening slowed down, color graded, and with a song playing in the background. It’s like a vision. It’s perfect. This was one of those moments. Grant, Viv, Michelle, and I all got up early for the sunrise. It was our second week abroad and our first week knowing each other. Everything was brand new and each moment felt like it would last forever, so I took my camera to the beach to remember that feeling. The feeling of being on my own, of waking up on the other side of the world. The feeling of summer in January and walking to the beach from our condo. The feeling of studying abroad, and making new friends. All of it. Back at the house, Joe was making breakfast so we joined him. As we sat in the kitchen of our way-too-small-for-five-people Airbnb, the most beautiful bird landed on our windowsill. As I grabbed my camera & started recording another landed right next to it. They chriped to eachother and a third came to join them. My eye switched between real life and my viewfinder. I watched through my camera as these three little birds sat on our window. And I saw it: slowed down, color graded, and with this song playing in the background. It was a vision. It was perfect. Disclaimer: do not do as i did. We learned after that it is not healthy for the birds to feed them :((
