But you put wood chunks in with the pellets… more cost effective using wood over pellets for that application, pellets are made to use specifically in smokers 🤷🏻♂️

@Ryan Alling: People are complaining about the bottom wood piece getting burnt through. I wrapped the wood in tinfoil purely for longevity. Even wrapped the foil, you still see discoloration on the wood, but at least there’s no visible damage besides discoloration. I strongly advise you do as I did, until a better solution comes out with a metal base.

I wouldn’t put that in an ice fishing tent or any tent for that matter. That thing is consuming a lot of oxygen quickly.

pellets are good for if you plan to make s'mores or something. hardwood burns too fast to be consistent enough to cook on those.
