@amandabear_lecter: Finally knocked Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum off my spooky bucket list! This asylum housed patients from 1864 until 1994. Overcrowding, medically questionable treatment practices, and poor sanitation (as well as murder) led to multiple deaths on the property. They now offer a variety of both paranormal and historical tours. In October they run a haunted house in one of the smaller buildings on the property. Tips for visiting: 👻 Tickets go on sale in person at 9:30 AM. Line up early to secure the spots for the tour you want. 👻 wear comfortable shoes! Some tours last over two hours, and there are lots of stairs. 👻 bring a jacket! Even if it’s warm outside the asylum can be chilly. 👻 The VIP tour blends both history and paranormal experiences, and you get to see parts of the asylum not open to other tours.
