Yes, Simpson book advises to drive with a 1/2" drill motor, they zip right in.

they make a 3 ft extension with spring loaded guard so you don't need a ladder

I own several of the apparatus that Simpson manufactures for these rafter screws. Obviously, these framers are not very experienced in this matter.
