the wood floor will still be there if ever in the future you decide you want to tackle refinishing/restoring! I don’t blame you for not doing that, it’s expensive and can take forever!

I don’t think people quite understand how much time and money it takes to restore hardwood. It’s not like you ripped it out, it’s still there for anyone to restore in the future.
