Hi, I’m not really sure where to begin, but first and foremost, I’m not quitting this account. However, I am stepping away from K-pop (for now, at the end of the day idk what the future holds for me). If there's one thing this year has taught me about K-pop and its idols, it’s that we truly don’t know these people. I’ve always been aware of that, but experiencing the sense of betrayal firsthand, like with the Taeil situation, has made me feel sick to my stomach and question everything again. It’s made me realize again that when the cameras stop, the videos end, and the microphones turn off, these idols are strangers to us. We think we know them because of the image they and the industry create online, but in reality, it’s fiction. And while this isn’t news to me, I’ve stopped ignoring it. We idolize people we don’t truly know, and that’s dangerous. K-netz, as well as some international fans, idolize these idols to the point of literally cruelty. They bullied a 21-year-old boy out of his dreams, his passions, and his hard work with hateful comments such as death threats, and over a thousand funeral wreaths sent to his company. Why? Because he lived his life? Because he did things normal teenagers do?? This situation is so messed up, so inhumane. SM, you once again failed to protect one of your idols as well as me I guess cuz girl I am done. I no longer want to be part of a community that supports this kind of behavior. It disgusts me. How can this be allowed? Take action. Sue these people or something man. Don’t just sit there and watch. I’ve always known K-pop and its fandoms are for the most part toxic, and yet I stayed a part of it. But I’m done. I’m turning my back on it once and for all. I don’t know what the future holds for this account, but I’m certain I won’t stop editing. If there’s one thing I’m passionate about (besides watching movies and series), it’s editing, and nothing will take that away from me. I will probably be doing just that, watching series/movies and edit them afterwards (most likely K-dramas for now). This isn’t a goodbye, but if you’re only here for my K-pop edits, feel free to unfollow. I’m no longer that person. I know most of you followed me for my K-pop edits, especially NCT edits, and I will always be so grateful to all of you! You guys helped me build a beautiful community, and I’m so thankful for the support and joy you’ve brought me. I’ll also always be thankful to NCT Dream for being such a big part of my youth. Without them, this account—and all of you in it—wouldn’t exist. I wouldn’t have made the friendships and memories that shape me today. So, thank you NCT Dream, and thank you to all of you.
