I was asked to communicate WEEKLY to parents of failing students. I said “I communicate 2 times a week when I update grades via the grade book which is available on the PARENT PORTAL” 😭

Our grading just got changed by the district and board. Plagiarism is excused, all work has to be accepted two weeks late for full credit, there are no more 0s, and any test under 75 has retakes.

That’s crazy. In my school if you fail, you fail. There’s no report, no explanation nothing. It’s purely the students fault 💀

THIS!! The worst thing we’ve done to our schools is the no child left behind policy and making it too extra compensating for teachers to fail students. Check their grade book as well as paper trail that should be sufficient instead we make it strenuous so teachers let ‘em slide KNOWING they shouldn’t move up

Exactly I’ve bumped a grade many times to avoid BS plus there are a few I’ve said NOPE they are not repeating bc I don’t want them again they can be someone else’s problem 🤣💀

If I was a teacher I’d be very petty, and fill it out anyway. At least something might get done, but then again I’ve seen how many of my teachers get a middle finger when it comes to these students

It depends on the case, for me, I switched to a new school for 7th grade and was in a constant state of depression due to the death of my mom for the whole year.
