😂 i tell my daughter she looks beautiful every day no matter what she’s wearing or how crazy her hair looks. I think it’s important that they feel beautiful because it’s part of our human experience!

Instead of smart, I say "hard worker" or "creative" or "problem solver". Appearance compliments I save for special costumes or new outfits. If Im doing a chore or on a screen, they can use a screen.

i often said “you did it!” to baby and and now as a toddler she tells herself “i did it!”, claps, runs away and doesn’t even look to me for “approval”. i try to become her inner monologue
