You can have +cash flow even in a loss year. Machinery depreciation needs to be covered eventually but can get by a while without $ to cover.

my dad was a farmer for 50 years he always said he lost every year but had bew equipment every 3 years and paid for his 2 houses and other stuff. don't believe what farmers tell you

What percentage of the $1000 per acre is equipment cost ? Couldn’t you lower overhead and run decent used equipment and maybe it cost $500 per acre? Now don’t have those huge payments In the bad times
