It’s very rare lol. Let it sit at room temp for 20 min, med hi cast iron pan w a lil oil, season steak, sear both sides for 2 min each, baste w butter, herbs, garlic for 1-2 min, let sit 7 min 😉

I don’t know about in the UK, but in the US you can get a meat thermometer pretty cheap.

Looks rare. Medium rare will have a warm, red center. Rare is still cool in the center.

That’s a nice rare you can even go one stage less and it’s called blue which is just mildly seared on both sides and put on a plate that will not be warm in the middle
