Here you can have an app developed by the government that holds your ID. So you don't need to carry the physical copy of it. It's an official document. Same goes for vehicle registration and so on.

in Algeria we have a app that displays the student card but they refuse to work with it they ask for the physical card also they just look at the university logo nothing else lol

it's policy for places to not accept pictures of ID's. Some places dont "accept" it, it's just the worker who allowed it which they can lose their job if their boss finds out abt it.
