I completely understand what you are saying but don’t agree with the idea that it’s similar to other Canadian med schools bc its very different. GPA is a cutoff and not used competitively, which is very different from majority of med school except Queens now (but Queens requires the MCAT) and Ottawa uses GPA competitively (3.90+ average) and requires prerequisites. Not having prerequisites, MCAT or GPA (competively) allows for so many more applicants from a wide range of programs which is great! And places more emphasis on holistic application and not just academic which is also great, but a very differ t approach to any other med school in Ontario (except NOSM).
