I want to do everything, so I do nothing. If that sounds familiar .. you are not lazy. 🧠 Your brain is overwhelmed by too many choices. Here’s the psychology… When there are too many options, your brain has to weigh all of them. The effort of choosing, plus the fear of choosing wrong, can be enough to shut the whole system down. So your brain does nothing instead, because nothing feels safer than choosing wrong. The problem is most people try to fix this by adding more. More plans. More options. More thinking about the thinking. That usually creates even more overwhelm. Here’s what actually works 👇 1. Stop collecting options. Start reviewing what you already have. You don’t need more ideas. You need to pick one. 2. Lower the stakes. Your brain freezes when it thinks every choice is permanent. Most aren’t. A decision doesn’t have to be perfect to be useful. 3. Name the smallest next action .. not the goal. Your brain can’t act on “get on top of everything.” It can act on “open the document.” “Send the email.” “Put on your shoes.” You’re not overwhelmed because you’re weak.
