I used to love flying but hate it now-it’s expensive for less quality,no carryons, no checked bags,less seat space, can’t recline. expensive to even fly within the states.

In my freshman year I was able to fly home to MN from Chicago on spirit for $45-70 round trip. Spirit stopped that route and I couldn’t get a flight for less than $200. Megabus became my only option.

I just got $750 worth of travel credit after reporting United to the FAA after they canceled and offered less than market value vouchers. Would’ve appreciated a refund but a minor win is better than no win.

This is so interesting! Flights from NYC to Michigan (1hr and 20mins) consistently are $500. Used to be half that. Glad to know what to focus on when complaining about the industry!

It is often possible for me to fly more cheaply to Europe than within the US. Europeans can fly from city to city, internationally, for less than $100 regularly. Why can’t we do that within the US?

That’s what I don’t get, if the airports are funded in part by the feds - why the heck are airlines allowed to claim any parts of them. You get to use it for what you pay, period. No permanent anything.
