The “move over” law has been around since I got my license more years (ok decades) ago then I’ll admit. Maybe it’s just now gone nationwide?

I always thought this was a thing. In Missouri, this is typically what we do unless there is too much traffic and we cannot move over for those on the shoulder

that's been a law for as long as I can remember, in Utah, Wyoming and Nevada if you don't move over you get a HUGE ticket.

I thought it was common courtesy and law to move over, change lanes or to pull over and stop when there's emergency vehicles on their way to an emergency or just a car with its flashers on...

It’s dangerous to be on the side of the road. I know tow truck drivers that have been hurt. So I always move over but if I can’t, I slow down and turn on my flashers until I’ve passed them.

I’m in Texas, and this has always been a thing. It’s definitely a courtesy. It gives respect. In Texas we always move over.

W! state has always required move over/slow down. People just don't know when they don't need to, like theres a grassy median. they're not crossing that, why is the other side slowing down? Move!

That’s been a law in AZ for as long as I can remember. I know when I started driving roughly 30 years ago, it was a thing. It makes so much sense now when see people not moving out of the way!
