@turkuazkitchen: Have you ever had a pasta that eats sweet rather than savory? This is a very controversial recipe for my family but it was a staple in my house. Part of the family is firmly on team savory, preferring bolognese or other more classic sauces, but the other half loved this special treat—myself included!! Today I wanted to share with you one of my favorite childhood recipes. The other day while recording a podcast, I was reminded of this dish and wanted to share it with you all! Homemade pasta, brown butter, topped with a mixture of granulated sugar and walnuts. You can add sage or thyme on top for a perfect herbal balance or even add a tablespoon or two of heavy whipping cream for extra creaminess. It’s one of those recipes that isn’t quite a recipe—one that’s all about finding that perfect ratio of ingredients just to your taste. For this video, I did a shaken-style butter, in which you shake the butter rather than churn it. It’s quite an arm workout, requiring 15 to 17 minutes of shaking—but can be a really fun activity with your children! As always, electric churners ( stand mixer or hand mixer) will provide with a beautiful product as well, but this was a satisfying little way to make this dish even more personal.

I never thought pasta could be sweet! This recipe sounds like a fun challenge to try with my family. Who else is up for the taste test?

for the butter did you use fresh cream or milk and (if) was the milk fresh or pasteurized? 👏

My “sweet” pasta is a butternut squash ricotta ravioli with browned butter sage sauce and candied walnuts. Sounds kind of similar, tbh!! Love it. 💚💚

I was wondering if the place where she makes the dough is the same place where she cooks. Does she make the dough on the gas stove ?

I have to ask how does your pans stay hot since they aren’t on a stove or anything. I’m curious about that.
