This is…not true? Antidepressants can absolutely make you feel worse the first couple of weeks. Not more energy, just straight up worse. It differs for everyone.

Like someone else said, that's not always the case. I was on an SSRI and it made me a LOT more depressed. Now I'm on a dopamine/norepinephrine one and it's great.

Zoloft made me feel better for a few weeks and then suddenly I was unable to feel any emotions. Not sad, not happy, just nothing. I was more suicidal than ever because I couldn’t feel any way about it

I was so productive the day the side effects of the more energy was strongest. I don't remember much from that shift at work, but the evidence was there that I did so much.

Ooooh!!! This is why my sleep meds come with that warning too. Because I’m getting better quality sleep I might have the energy to do something like that

My dad didn’t leave the house for years then suddenly started leaving the house and giving stuff back to people that had stuff at his house. I now know this was a huge warning flag and we all missed it. His ptsd won

I was taking antidepressants with another medication(for seizures) and it gave me thoughts, so my guess is the meds mixed in a bad way for me. I have since stopped both and feel a lot better

I was diagnosed bipolar and immediately thrown on an anti-depressant. But doctors can't seem to understand when I tell them that yee, they work, BUT they cause more harm for me

some meds also work opposite of what is intended. I eas put on a seizure med that was also an anti-depressent, but it made me incredibly depressed, and they had to put me on another anti to counteract

For me, if I missed a dose, I would be sent down a spiral where I’d seriously feel like taking myself out fr. Had to get off of them cuz I was afraid of just how suicidal they’d make me feel

Kind of like how anti-anxiety meds in dogs can make them aggressive. They don’t have the anxiety that’s keeping them from biting but they do still have the fear that makes them want to bite.

Except for the first few weeks when your head is spinning and you're nauseous all the time, can't sleep and have wicked restless legs. After that you maybe get some energy but never miss a dose :)
